New surplus Hyundai Heavy Industries generator step-up transformer, 80/106.4/132.8 MVA ONAN/ONAF/ONAF, 72 kV grounded-wye to 13.8 kV delta, YNd1, with a 21-position HV on-load tap changer. Manufactured December 2015 to CSA/IEEE standards. Never placed in service. Stored in Alberta, Canada, and available for inspection by appointment.

The unit was oil-filled and nitrogen-blanketed under a December 2024 preservation program, with independent diagnostic testing at that time. Copper windings, full-vacuum tank, conservator and radiators, and a complete set of loose accessories stored in crates.

  • OLTC motor drive with drive shaft; OLTC protective relay and pressure-relief piping

Condition and storage

  • Service history: Built December 2015, never placed in service. Seller reports it has never been energized. CTG has not independently verified service history beyond the documents in the data package.
  • Storage: Main tank outdoors on matting with temporary containment in Alberta, Canada. Accessories stored separately, indoor and outdoor.
  • December 2024 preservation: Dew point check (-64.4 °C under nitrogen, about 0.65% insulation moisture), vacuum leak test passed, vacuum-filled with new inhibited Type II oil, nitrogen blanket, OLTC compartment filled.
  • December 2024 tests (independent firm): Turns ratio within 0.14% of calculated at nominal tap; 5 kV insulation resistance and core/clamp ground acceptable; SFRA baseline recorded. Oil after fill: moisture < 4 ppm, dielectric breakdown 39 kV (D1816, 1 mm), dissipation factor 0.001% at 25 °C, IFT 47 mN/m, acid < 0.01 mg KOH/g, PCB not detected.
  • Not performed in 2024: Winding resistance, power factor/capacitance, excitation current, bushing tests, DGA, and functional tests of auxiliaries, cooling, controls and OLTC.
  • Before energizing: Plan a full installation, oil processing and commissioning program per the manufacturer's instruction book. CTG can quote these services.
